JDU national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh reacted soon after Upendra Kushwaha resigned from the party in Patna.

Talking to media persons here, the national president Lallan Singh wished him best of luck and his newly-formed party. “I sincerely advise him to stick to his party for a longer period. He has a habit of frequently changing sides”, he said.

Recalling his recent entry in JDU, Lallan Singh categorically said: “Nobody was interested in joining him again in the party because of his habit of changing sides. It was CM Nitish Kumar who had single handedly taken the decision to include him in the party fold despite strong opposition.

“I had told him on his face ‘how long will you be there in the party?’ he immediately said that now I will not go anywhere. Ab humko kahin nahi jaana hai.  Jeena yahan marna yaha” (Now, I have nowhere to go.  I will die here).

Talking about the impact on his departure in the party, he said there would be absolutely no impact.  Not a single party leader was present in the two day meeting convened by Kushwaha. Only his supporters were there, he said and added that only a single MLC Rameshwar Mahto was there. “I cannot tell you what Mahto told me about Kushwaha,” he said.

Because of his “highly ambitious” plan, he cannot think below the level of CM, he said. “We all know that he had met the deputy CM Tejshwi Yadav at Arwal circuit house requesting him extend support for the CM”, he said and added that his frequent visit to Delhi and Patna made it clear that he had lobbied hard with BJP to support him.

Because of his frequent inconsistency none of the political parties have any faith in him, he said and added that CM offered him leader of the opposition in the assembly and sent him Rajya Sabha but he hardly sticks anywhere.

Lallan Singh extended best wishes to him and his newly formed party.
